Inspiration to design can come from anything around you. It can be anything from a feeling to objects or surrounding. To design this corset, I found my inspiration in the balance of life.

A strong women accepts both compliments and criticism graciously, knowing that it takes both sun and rain for a flower to grow. It always takes two different things in life to keep you satisfied, but they should always be balanced. Hence, as they say the key to happy life is balance.
Taking balance as my theme, what inspired me the most was the concept of yin and yang along with the balance of the human soul.

Mood board

Yin is the black side with the white dot in it, and yang is the white side with the black dot in it. It describes how opposite or contrary forces are actually complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. It also represents that in every good there is a little bit of evil and evil has a little bit of good still left in them.

With this as my inspiration, I have designed a collection of corsets, which are suitable for traditional occasions. I have used black and white to show the contrary forces. Pearls depicts the little contrary force still left in them. The silhouettes are simple yet they give an interesting edge to the garments. These corsets can be worn with a long skirt of different styles, with your sarees and you can even match them up with a pair of jeans.
